Professors Baek from the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics and Kim from the Department of Cyber Security at Korea University Sejong Campus have been selected as recipients of the 2025 10th Korea University Seoktap Research Award.

 

Since 2016, Korea University has established and presented the Seoktap Research Award to full-time faculty members who have made outstanding research achievements and contributed to enhancing the university's research capacity. The award aims to promote and publicize such accomplishments widely and to foster a long-term culture that encourages research excellence.

 

The 10th Seoktap Research Award for the 2025 academic year was evaluated based on academic papers, scholarly monographs, and externally funded research projects conducted from January to December 2024. The quality of research was assessed using achievements from January 2023 to December 2024. Notably, evaluation criteria included being the lead author in top-tier journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell(NSC-level journals), serving as the lead author in multinational collaborative research, and being among the top contributors in indirect research funding from external sources.

 

Out of a total of 54 awardees this year, Professors Baek and Kim from Korea University Sejong Campus were selected as two of the honorees.
