Korea University Sejong Campus Announces 'VISION 2030'…
Preparing to Leap Forward as a Global Future Innovation University

 

Korea University Sejong Campus has announced its new vision, ‘KU SEJONG: Leaping Beyond Regions to the World through Innovative Research and Education,’ as it prepares for a major transformation into a global future-oriented innovation university.

 

To this end, the ‘Sejong Campus VISION 2030 Final Report Meeting’ was held on July 1, at the Yujung Hall of the Culture and Sports Building.

 

This meeting, organized to mark the 120th anniversary of Korea University’s founding and the 45th anniversary of the Sejong Campus, officially declared a five-year development strategy and served as a venue to share the vision’s direction and implementation commitment with faculty and staff.

 

The four strategic directions for realizing VISION 2030 are leading research that integrates humanity and technology, cultivating open-minded human resource with a global DNA, strengthening demand-driven research and business cooperation, and enhancing sustainability through a professional management culture.

 

This vision was developed based on approximately eight months of internal and external competitiveness analysis, stakeholder interviews, and surveys conducted from November 2024 to June 2025. It reflects the unique identity and conditions of the Sejong Campus and presents practical strategies. VISION 2030 is not just a short-term action plan but is intended to serve as a mid- to long-term milestone guiding development toward the 50th anniversary of the campus’s founding in 2030.

 

Vice President Kim stated, “The Sejong Campus has accumulated meaningful achievements across education, research, and research and business cooperation by responding flexibly to change. VISION 2030 is not merely a plan on paper but a concrete blueprint for change to ensure the Sejong Campus’s sustainable competitiveness.”
